One of the most difficult, but yet most rewarding ministries is discipleship. Befriending another Christian and helping them grow spiritually is not easy. Life is messy, and you sometimes have to make yourself vulnerable help others through life’s problems.

“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”

Colossians 3 : 16 (NIV)

Don’t think you will come out of helping another Christian grow unchanged. You will also grow in the process as you are challenged with questions or problems you may have never considered. God may also point out areas that need growth in your life through the one you are helping. We must be prepared to be humbled and open to God’s leading and teaching in our lives.
